  • 1: The Current Situation—Reason for the proposal

    Development is gobbling up land across New England at an exponential rate. Our vital farmland, woodland, wildlife habitats, and classic small towns of New England are being eroded by sprawl. You’ve seen it in the town you live in—not far from your own backyard.

    Only a small percentage of the New England landscape is managed under a plan of sustainability where the development of land is balanced by the conservation of vital historic, agricultural, natural, environmental, cultural, and recreational resources.
