End-to-End Hike 1. Is a complete and contiguous hike, from the Atlantic Ocean to Mont Megantic in Canada, in either direction, done in sections or all at once. 2. The Northern terminus shall be the summit of Mont Megantic in Quebec. The southern east terminus is the Ninigret Beach in Charlestown, Rhode Island; the southern west terminus is Lighthouse Point in New Haven, Connecticut. 3. An end to end hike must visit all of the major features on the route (listed below) as integral and contiguous parts of the overall hike. Major Features, Lighthouse Point to
Monadnock: 2. The Regicides Trail to the Quinnipiac Trail; the Quinnipiac Trail to the foot of Sleeping Giant.
3. A complete trail route along the summit ridge of Sleeping Giant. 6. The Metacomet Trail. 7. The complete Metacomet-Monadnock Trail from the Connecticut Border to the summit of Orient Mountain in Belchertown, Massachusetts. 8. The Robert Frost Trail from Orient Mountain to Ruggles Pond in Wendell State Forest. 9. The Metacomet-Monadnock Trail from Ruggles Pond to the base of the Farley Ledges in Erving. 10. Side trail route over the base then the top of the Farley Ledges to rejoin the Metacomet- Monadnock Trail at Northfield Mountain Reservoir. 11. Complete Metacomet-Monadnock route from Northfield Mountain ridgeline to junction with the Tully Trail. 12. The Tully Trail from its junction with the Metacomet-Monadnock trail, including Tully Mountain, Tully Lake, Doanes Falls, Spirit Falls, Jacob's Ledge, and Royalston Falls. 13. The Metacomet-Monadnock Trail from Royalston Falls to the base of Mount Monadnock. 14 Any trail or
combination of trails to the summit of Mt. Monadnock. 2. A route mostly following the North-South Trail and including Wachaug Pond, Shamunkanuc Hill, Meadow Brook Pond, Carolina Trout Pond, Browning Mill Pond, Wood River, Mt. Tom, Stepstone Falls, Escoheag Hill, Pauchaug State Forest (Connecticut), Nicholas Farm WMA, Carbuncle Pond, Moosup Valley Cemetary, Clark Pond, Jeremoth Hill, Killingly Pond, Durfee Hill WMA & Grist Mill Pond, Hemlock Ledges, Peck Pond, and Buck Hill WMA. 3. The Midstate Trail in Douglas State Forest but also including the Cedar Swamp boardwalk and a visit to Wallum Lake. 4. The Midstate Trail from Douglas State Forest to the French River in Oxford. 5. Hodges Village Dam along the French River 6. A complete circuit of Buffumville Lake via loop trail and MST. 7. A route mostly following the the Midstate Trail from Buffumville Lake to Route 9 in Spencer and including the Route 20 Cow Tunnel, Northside Common, Faye Mountain Orchard, Four Chimneys Summit, Howe Pond (optional), Morgan Swamp (optional), Prouty Hill (optional), and Burncoat Pond Sanctuary. 8. The Midstate Trail from Route 9 to the Ware River in Hubbarston. 9. Wachusett Greenways region, including East and West Branches of the Ware River, Brigham Pond, Cunningham Pond, Moosehorn Pond, and the Ware River Watershed East. 10. The Midstate Trail from Wachusett Meadows to the Crow Hills but also including the summit of Brown Hill in the Wachusett Meadows Sanctuary. 11. Sawmill Pond, Oak Hill, Phillips Brook Falls, McTaggard's Pond Dam. 12. The Midstate Trail from Muddy Pond to the New Hampshire border. 13. The Wapack Trail to the summit of South Pack Mountain. 14. A cross country route from Pack Monadnock to Monadnock including Cunningham Pond, Casalis Marsh, Town Line Brook, Noone Village, Parker Pond (optional), Frost Pond, Blaine Forest, and Thorndike Pond. 15. Any trail or combination of trails to the summit of Monadnock.
Major Features, New Hampshire: 1. The entire Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway from Monadnock to Lake Solitude. 2. The eastern half of the Sunapee-Kearsarge-Ragged Greenway from the summit of Sunapee to the summit of Bog Mountain but also including the summit of Sunset Hill. 3. Gile Region: Butterfield Pond, the Colabe Mine, Banks Pinnacle (optional), Grafton Pond, Isinglass Mountain, Tewksbury Pond, Orange Pond. 4. Mount Cardigan, any route over the summit but including the Firescrew and Mowglis Mountain. 6. Plymouth Region: Sculptured Rocks, Bald Knob, Tenney Mountain, Plymouth Mountain, Plymouth Center, Livermore Falls, and Mt. Prospect. 7. The Squam Range from Mt. Webster to Mt. Israel. 8. A contiguous route through the White Mountain region including these features: Sandwich Mountain (including Jennings and Noon peaks); Mt. Tripyramid; The Sleepers; Mt. Whiteface; Passaconway Mtn; Paugus Mtn; Mt. Chocorua and the Sisters; White Ledge; Swift River Gorge; South and Middle Moat Mountains; Diana's Bath; White Horse and Cathedral Ledges; The entire Montalbon Ridge from Mt. Stanton to Mt. Isolation; Mt. Washington, Jefferson, and Mt. Adams via any combination of routes; Mt. Crescent and Mt. Randolph; Pond of Safety; Kilkenny Ridge from the Waumbek/South Weeks Col to South Pond; Stark Village; Devil's Slide. 9 The Cohos Trail from Stark to Coleman State Park including the Sugarloaf Summit. 10. Part of the proposed High Country Trail including Mt. Pisgah, Mt. Magalloway, and Diamond Ridge. 11. The Cohos Trail along Second, Third and Fourth Connecticut Lakes, including the summit of Deer Mountain. 12. Border Mountains including all significant peaks from NH Route 3 to the summit of Mt. D'Urban. 13. Mt. Megantic summit, including St. Joseph summit as well.
